Freeset Covid Relief Appeal
Covid-19 is wreaking havoc in India right now, especially in the cramped communities where we live and work. On May 15th, 2021 the Government of West Bengal announced Lockdown to contain Covid-19. This has led to an effective stop on all vocation. Your donation today will support the life-changing provision of medical care, food, wages, and access to education.
Freeset exists for the many women who have never had the choice to be free. We care about the thousands in West Bengal, India who are vulnerable to sex trafficking. These women don’t get to choose their occupation, and we want to change that. We make bags, tees, and hand-woven fabrics, and love that we are part of India’s long tradition of cotton and jute production.
In the past year, responding to the Nationwide Lockdown on March-2020, we launched our COVID-19 relief effort PAY, PROTECT, and PROVIDE for our communities. Freeset committed to pay full wages for the duration of the lockdown, and distribute 20,000 cotton face masks and 40,000 free meals to the most vulnerable in our communities. We are glad to have you joining us in this endeavor. Your donation at this pivotal time made a massive difference in preserving the well-being of the more vulnerable among us.
